Chef Roberto Cátala Represents Puerto Rico at Taste of the Caribbean 2019
Chef Roberto Cátala was part of the Puerto Rico National Culinary Team at Taste of the Caribbean 2019, one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the region. Competing against teams from 14 Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico’s team consisted of two chefs, a pastry chef, a junior chef, and a bartender, each showcasing their expertise in their respective categories.
The competition required teams to prepare a three-course meal under time constraints, with a mystery basket determining the main protein. With a carefully crafted menu that celebrated Puerto Rican culinary heritage, Chef Cátala and his team delivered an outstanding performance, reinforcing Puerto Rico’s status as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. Their participation and success continue to elevate the island’s gastronomic reputation on an international level.
